White Noise V1.2: The Stiletto Formal
October 19, 2006
White Noise is a new feature on SBMag where we talk to you about some music that we find worthy of putting in your music player to listen to on the way down the slopes. White Noise is music to shred with!
You won’t find you’re average MTV commercial bands or artists here. White Noise is here to bring you music that otherwise you probably would never hear about.

The Stiletto Formal
To me being a truly talented musician means being able to play a variety of styles of music and sounds. Arizona’s The Stiletto Formal manages to do this while keeping consistency yet still coming up with something unique at every corner. Their indie rock in mangled in with some synth instruments and classical instruments as well as a variety of singing styles provide a truly creative and experimental experience.
You may have heard The Stiletto Formal in BentFilms’ White Dwarf in the outtakes playing their song “This Song Can’t be About Blowing Stuff Up Because of Terrorism” This is actually one of their more mainstream, tamer sounding songs. Other songs like “Murder at the Stiletto Formal” incorporate classical music, rock and a techno sounding beat, and is one of my personal favorites. “Taste Like Black Licorice” is another one of my favorites, a almost Latin groove with some heavy drum play.
Inspire you creative side on the slopes by plugging in some Stiletto Formal in you music player. Three of their songs are available for free download at PureVolume.com or spruce up your MySpace page with some of their songs from their MySpace Profile. You can buy CD’s at SmartPunk.com.
