I’m sure most of you remember Neal Lyons, X-Games winner. Well his band Kover released their first album titled Assembly.
Their Myspace describes them as “Foo Fighters meets Hot Water Music while in the shower with Thin Lizzy, there’s only one bar of soap, and that bar has been dropped!“
This band could simply be put as rock, good genuine rock, which seems to be so rare now of days. Neal’s deep and scratchy vocals come off as border line screaming in the heavier tracks. The distorted guitaring give an reminicent 80’s metal kind of feel at some points, and is very present in all the tracks, matching well with the vocals. Their tracks have a great sense of variety and at the same time, hold up together for a great listening.
For me this is a great frustration band, but not so much that I wouldn’t listen to them when I’m not in that kind of mood. Overall, a great band definitly worth taking a look at.
They recently had a interview in in AMP magazine, and have a great track Asphalt to Stone available for download on their MySpace.
