WOW it’s not probably… few years made snowblades and
It’s about time they got out.
less money leaking out of the industry, this in a way is good for the sport. i thanks salomon for bringing skiboarding to the mass public, now we gotta make sure the interest stays and people buy from companies that support the sport.
Actually Salomon started making that crap in 1997 not the early 90’s. This is great news for our sport, yeah a lot of people had access to them in rental shops but they really gave our sport a bad name with the low quality, 8 hole plastic bindings, narrow, ski like design. Pretty much only newbies would rent them and anyone serious about snow sliding would take one look at them and immediately decide they wanted no part of it.
i wouldn’t say it particularly hurt skiboarding, it confused many uneducated snow riders. But really it brought more riders in…if it wasnt for the rental shit (blizzard my first riding experience rental) i would of never discovered skiboarding, and pretty much be skiing or jst not riding at all.
Yes, Salomon introduce the general idea of skiboarding to the masses. It was a warped view of what our sport really is but they did get the idea across. Without snowblades a lot of serious skiboarders today may not have found skiboarding, at least not as soon. Salomon’s time is up and it will definitely benefit our sport and core companies.
thanks for the correction G
yup - i must say : i bought snowblades, bcs in latvia the only thing looked a lil bit like skiboards were these crap things , and when i skied with them for 1 season and then got canon m7, then i realised how shitty are snowblades, and that gave me power to make things better, and i wanted to change situation in latvia, so other ppl can buy real skiboards stright and fast in latvia, and no need for buying snowblades and then look for real skiboards - so that took time for me, now i am doin all it doesnt take any time for others, so they can get SKIBOARDS in latvia.
so - this is how snowblades actually helped me, and all latvian skiboarding movement, as we see now - its all gone so far and in THIS time bcs of snowblades, if no snowblades, maybe all would happen but little bit later, who knows
Thank goodness Salomon’s gone. While many people loved Salo skates, G’s right to say Salomon’s skiboards were crap. Skiboarding and Rolling share the difficulty of trying to reverse society’s misperception of what we do. For skiboarding, a lot of that was set in motion by Salomon.
So if salomon are’nt that good what should a newby like me go for (clothing/jacket purchase)?????
your all pussies anyway– get a motorbike
for clothing? i didn’t even know salomon made coats?
long live the allz revolution in Latvia.
ty - what ??
…
haha ALLZ changing skiboarding one european country at a time lol. changing from having only snowblades and skiblades to offering high quality skiboards.
nah, its all good - there was real skiboards before this year, .. Started with CANON, then SnowJams then Revel8, but AllZ is specially made for pushing limits of ALL, not only extreme pro riders, but ALL riders, beginers to pro .. all !!!
ALLz .. A to Z .. and so on
u know, AllZ means a lot things, the same AllZ are supposed to lot of ppl and lot of riders.
NEWS soon
I’d still like advice on clothing/jackets? if ya dont mind……………………
suggestions for clothing/jacket? can you be more specific? there are hundreds of clothing and outerwear companies, what are you looking for?
Currently a ski/snowboard instructor working for the last 10 years in Austria. Have ridden/skied most makes and models. Line, snowjam, canon. Found Salomon to be superior in many ways. Everyone is different I suppose.
