With the state of it all as it is, lets have a cheers shall we? We’ve come along way and I’m happy to say that its only going to get better.
This is YOUR year. If you are going to be reaching the obvious end of this sentence, then im afraid there is no turning back, period. You.
Bentfilms is happy to offer you the opportunity to leave a personal tag on the history of skiboarding w/ the cop me and my newbjoey video contest.
Not unlike Level1 Productions Super Unknown Contest, Cop me and my NewbJoey is a step towards diversifying and expanding skiboarding across the globe w/ fresh faces and fresh styles.
We offer you the opportunity to spend the upcoming season filiming in the trees, the parks, the streets, the playgrounds, the rooftops, the cliffdrops, asiide mtn goats, floating on Condor boats, exploring, touring, traveling, getting shallow, deep, cranked up to 12, doing slashers, bump lines, butters, bonkers or wallies.
Spend a year filming, editing and producing a section that is no more then 4 and a half minutes long w/ music that you have obtained the rights to honestly with permission from the artist (for ideas on how to accomplish this, please email bentfilms2g@hotmail.com w/ the subject HOW TO FIND MUSIC SKIBOARD INFO if you dont know already… a trick is to know the artist-s who could benefit from the pro-bono exposure.)
The top sections will be featured in a new video to be released worldwide in 4 continents and over a half dozen countries littered throughout the likes of todays pros and tomorows frontrunners. This is your chance.
BUT as per usual, there is a catch. Your section must have at least 3 riding shots of a NEWBIE who has NEVER TRIED SKIBOARDING BEFORE… weather they be deep slashers, dirty jibs, switch bomb runs, cab12s or whatever, the contest is COP ME AND MY NEWBJOEY. And it requires some social basics and street smarts.
Bentfilms and its affiliates accepts ZERO responsibility for your well-being during the filming of these video parts, and they are to be constructed at your own risk, so be careful and make CALCULATED decisions throughout the year. Well thoughtout shots, angles and followcams that look like the filmer wasnt addicted to ketamine or caffine is an obvious plus, so borrow a tripod!

Skiboarding at Expo in Moscow

“XIV International “Ski Expo” to be held in Moscow on November,1-3. Ski Expo has become cult action, the main event in advance of winter for all fans of ski, snowboard, and active rest.
For the first time skiboarding will be introduced at the stand of skiboarder.ru (Russian Internet project devoted to skiboarding. All about small ski with great opportunities. The review of events in Russia and world skiboarding. Photo and video archive. Clauses, interviews with PRO riders. Forum. Information support in competitions, parties. The organization and carrying out skiboard contests. Skiboarder.ru is focused on development of skiboarding in Russia).
On our booth skiboarder.ru we will present novelties of season 07/08 from leading manufacturers. Also at our stand it will be possible to see the best skiboarding video as well as to exchange experience with brothers-skiboarders.
There will be FreeRide zone where JIBB CONTEST will take place on a specially designed mountain with natural snow, and plenty of other interesting things.
Participating in SkiExpo we expect to advance skiboarding not only in Russia but all over the world.

It seems LaCroix, maker of the Summit skiboards for the past two years are stepping up to make their own line up of skiboards, after the deal with Summit went sour. As mentioned in an earlier post, SBOL has a pair for sale, but LaCroix will also release a 98 cm a 108 cm and a 124 cm. The Phiokka logo is also on their website, which probably means LaCroix is planning to re-release them for the skiboard market, as well as the Salomon logo, and Salomon release and non-releasable bindings are shown on the website.
White Noise: Open Hand

White Noise is a segment where we feature musicians and bands that we think are worthy of your music player when you’re shredding down the hill.
Open Hand is rock band from LA. They’ve played with big names like Rise Against and are on the Dunn and Don Vito Rock tour (from TV’s Viva La Bam and JackAss)
Open Hand is a rock back, they don’t try to be anything other that a rock band, and do a pretty damn good job at it too. Instead of being stuck on some sub-genre, they are not afraid to explore the whole rock genre both vocally and musically, and that makes for a very diverse and interesting sound thats never over done, dull or boring.
They have the song Tough Girl for download on their MySpace page. Take No Action is my personal favorite.

Lacroix 2008 Titanal

“What the heck is titanal? It’s an aluminum/zinc alloy manufactured by AMAG in Austria and it’s niiiice. Some people just don’t dig graphics and for them there is now the choice of the clean, polished look of aluminum. Lacroix has been making skis since 1966 so you know these babies are high quality, in addition SBOL is selling them so they have to be top of the line.
Materials used are translucid ptex 2000 base-laminated and horizontal
woodcore-carbon-vibrachoc on tip and tail-PNS rubber-fiberglass with
different angles and weight-titanal.
