White Noise: Jose Gonzales

White Noise is a segment where we feature musicians and bands that we think are worthy of your music player when you’re shredding down the hill.

Jose Gonzales is a Swedish singer/songwritter with two albums and a bunch of EPs and Singles under his belt.

I’ve been listening to Jose Gonzales for about a year now, and his stuff never gets old. It’s great for whatever mood you are in. Jose’s music features elaborate yet simple classical guitar with at time jazzy rifts inserted in, mixed with smooth, melodical, thoughtful and symbolic lyrics.

“I like playing with symbolism”

His first album Veneer came out in 2003 and still has some timeless tracks on it, such as Crosses and Lovestain. His new album that he’s now in tour for, In Our Nature expands on the sound he created in Veneer. In Our Nature has some religious references, but shouldn’t throw off people who are not into relgious music.

“On this album I’ve wanted to bring out the primitive aspects of human beings”
