Zero Bindings

October 29, 2007

zero.jpg

New Zero Bindings from the guys at the WSA. They are brining back the FF Pros with a couple of adjustments.

The hole pattern will be changed, in the final version, as shown in new-3way-4×4.jpg The new layout will allow for center, back or front stance.

Another plus is the base rubber which will be 3/8” thick (high) instead of ¼” on older models – mounting screws will be also longer to accommodate the 1/8” difference.

Aluminum is even higher quality and stronger (T6) then the one used by Bomber and FF-Pro (T5)

The new bindings will be ready for the market by Dec. 08, just in time for the full winter season.

  4. great news … WE WILL HAVE bindings again ;)

  5. seriously, good news. cuz if this kept going the only option would have been snowjam xIIs.

  6. New soul plates with the new WSA models available? i never got them for my FF pros but i think that some 1 some how should make these again more pratical and wider then the last ones by line..

If u got a hole for it use it…

  7. i dont think our sport needs soul plates. back in the day, our sport was still in creation, so we looked to other sports to fill the gaps and borrowed stuff from them in order to have a bigger bag of tricks. i think skiboarding has come into its own where as now its not just “inlining on snow” anymore, we’ve created a counter culture to a counter culture, we dont need to borrow anymore, soul plates are useless.

  8. i believe alex from the forums was working hard on one…but could only do makios for the most part. He tried a bunch of different setups for it, but never found anything that worked perfect. Soul Plates are incredibly hard to make because unlike an inline skate…it has no support so it bends and flexes. Not to mention instead of jumping onto things…you kind of have to jump down onto it. The Line Souls were horrible from what i hear, and i saw pictures of alex’s and they were pretty big and bulky.

  9. yeah, I’d be pretty much the last one to admit it, but the soul plate idea got pretty much shut down. The line one was absolutely terrible. I got to test a few prototype designs, but nothing would ever stay solidly connected without bending.

The one thing that actually did work really good was using softboot snowboard bindings and having them act as a soul plate. The downside was that this only worked on old skinny boards. Modern skiboards are fatter than the softboot bindings, so there is no way that it could work.

  10. only a few more days until these badboys get released.
