Price is $269 without bindings. 4 hole pattern. The Carbon fiber top sheet is quite rare and there will only be a small number. The top sheet is strong yet lighter than the Aluminum top sheet. It is $15 more.

At the Summit of Skiboard Design

July 22, 2005

Summit has teamed up with LaCroix skis of France to develop their new Custom 110 cm - Classic LE skiboard. Having had the same 85 cm board for the last few years, Summit has only produced a small amount (125) of these hand crafted boards.

They are named “Classic LE” because they have a classic European ski shape which LaCroix skis is famous for, and “LE” for limited because they are not mass produced. Instead each pair was hand crafted by LaCroix himself.

These skiboards have a one of a kind look. They look like 2 pieces of wood ready to get a top sheet but once you look closely, they do have some graphics to them. The first is the Summit logo at the top, and the other is the model name and the actually pair’s number in production running from 001-125.

Some people might criticize Summit for not having “cool” graphics but it might actually spark awareness of wood cores as an alternative to foam cores.

These are all mountain boards, you can tell by the specs; 110 cm length wise, 14 cm at the tips and 11 cm at the waist. Ash was the wood of choice for the cores and is said to be one of the best woods for skis. Special varnish which is very flexible and durable under conditions was used to cover the wood. Graphite sintered bases are fast, combine that with the additional length from traditional skiboards, and you got one fast pair of skiboards.

The centered stance, symmetrical shape and 4 x 4 inserting patterns will definitely make these boards an alternative to last season’s Mix Lynam boards which have ceased production due to low quality contruction.

Many people have criticized The Skiboard Superstore (owners of Summit) for not having real, high quality skiboards. But these boards I think are the proof that they are dedicated to the sport of true skiboarding.

Specially formulated varnish as opposed traditional
top sheets means no two pairs are alike.
