White Noise V1.1: Avalon Way
September 22, 2006
White Noise is a new feature on SBMag where we talk to you about some music that we find worthy of putting in your music player to listen to on the way down the slopes. White Noise is music to shred with!
You won’t find you’re average MTV commercial bands or artists here. White Noise is here to bring you music that otherwise you probably would never hear about.

Avalon Way
I had the pleasure of meeting the lead singer of the band Rik Holden along with a few of the band members on a trip to the UK I had a few years ago. We went to a pub in their hometown of Darwen and had a few beers. Back then they where still finding their style. They had a demo out of some poppy rock stuff, not terrible, but not great either.
Since then they changed their name and perfected their style of music. A mixture of British rock with a California Punk twist, perfect for shredding down the mountain with all you’ve got, or hitting the park aggressively. Big emphasis on the electric guitar, there’s even a track where they mix in a almost ska-like sounding guitar play. Other tracks have more of a melodic rock sound which is great for just cruising down the mountain or riding back up the lift.
